Driver/Yard Service Representative – Weston Nurseries
Description:
Weston Nurseries is seeking full-time candidate to join our Delivery and Yard Service Team at our Chelmsford Garden Center. This position is heavily customer service based. The right candidate must be a team player that interacts well with our diverse team and our customers.
Duties:
Delivering Bulk materials, plants, and stone.
Loading customers with Bulk Materials
Working with customers to provide outstanding service and assist in day to day activities including loading and unloading trucks and general yard maintenance.
Watering as needed / drip irrigation maintenance
Re-blocking trees and shrubs (consolidation within blocks)
Support all other sales and operational activities.
Education:
High school education or GED.
Experience:
Previous experience in the delivery industry preferred.
Experience in operating in and around personal property situations.
Experience in driving an automatic transmission vehicles.
Two years or more of customer service experience at the one on one level with the customer.
Skills:
Current DOT Medical Card.
Clean driving record.
Ability to operate equipment (experience a plus)
Must speak and read English.
Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varied weather conditions.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs without assistance throughout the work day
Ability to multitask, prioritize and follow through with complex tasks
Safe operation of nursery vehicles at all times.
Loading and unloading of product.
Checking delivery for accuracy against customer’s paperwork.
Working with customers to ensure proper placement of material delivered.
Collecting any balances owed by customer.
Assisting in other areas on the nursery when needed.
