Many of you who know us here at the Chamber know that we love animals, which is why we are so excited to have so many members who work to improve the lives of our furry friends. One such member is The Social Pup. Located right in downtown Lowell, they are known as “Lowell’s Premier Dog Care Center”, and offer a wide variety of services for your pup, including grooming, day care, training, and a self-service dog wash. 
Opened in 2014 by Sarah Quigley, The Social Pup sought to fill a gap in Lowell for everything pup related. Sarah had adopted her own dog, and knew that she did not want to leave him in a cage all day. Sarah wanted her puppy to learn to socialize at a young age, but when she began her search for a day care center, she struggled to find one in the area that did not use cages. So, she decided to open The Social Pup, a daycare that focuses on small groups and is cage-free, sounds like something every pup parent can appreciate! At The Social Pup, they pride themselves on treating all of their four-legged clients like family, so you can feel good knowing your furry friend is being cared for by people who see him/her as their own.
When it comes to grooming, there are endless options so there’s definitely something for every pup. They used shampoo based on your pup’s needs and there are many options to choose from, from aloe and oatmeal for itchy skin, to tea tree and aloe for sensitive skin, to de-greasing shampoo, to luxurious scented shampoos (they even have seasonal favorites!), you may just want to get your own hair washed here! They can even do a de-skunk treatment if your pup ran into an unwanted visitor. They can groom cats as well as dogs, and pricing does vary depending on the size of your pet, but they also offer a la carte pricing for certain services such as nail trimmings etc. They also have a self-service dog wash area if you’d rather give your own pup it’s bath, they charge $20 and provide everything you would need, they even clean up!
If you’re looking for day care for your pup, as we said they are cage-free, and the first day of daycare is on them! They do have a few requirements though, dogs need to pass a behavioral evaluation and be up to date on shots, and neutered/spayed if they are over 7 months old. Throughout the day they typically have 10-15 dogs, and bring them all on many walk, play tug of war, fetch, and other games with them. Rates are $26 for a full day, $19 for a half day (4-5 hours), or $7 per hour. They also have packages available if you plan on sending your pup on a regular basis.
