Ladies & Gentlemen, Start Your Engines

December Quarter-end is behind us. Fiscal Year-end is behind us. Hanukkah celebrations are behind us. Christmas celebrations are behind us. And, our New Years Eve celebration is behind us. Happy New Year!

On December 31st at midnight, millions of people from around the world sang the song “Auld Lang Syne” (yup, it’s not Ol’ Ang Zine). But when the singing concluded, how many even know the song’s meaning? “Auld Lang Syne” was written in the late 1700’s by a Scottish poet named Robert Burns and eventually the lyrics became a global New Year’s Eve tradition. “Auld Lang Syne” translates to “for old times sake” and the song is about honoring our friends and reminiscing the prior year.

Did you reflect the good, the bad & the ugly?
Reminiscing about the prior year…….hmmm. Did you take the time to reflect back on 2017? Did you reflect the good, the bad, and the ugly? What went well and what didn’t? What did you learn and is there anything you would have done differently? It’s important to learn from our mistakes; we can only get better by learning from our mistakes and reflection can be powerful. However, don’t spend too much time dwelling on the past – learn from it and move on.
