Everybody knows someone. Perhaps it is a family member, co-worker, or friend who has struggled with an addiction to alcohol or drugs. Recently, the New York Times reported that one third of the households in the United States are struggling with a substance abuse disorder. They further report that overdoses are the leading cause of accident or injury death, more than double the amount of people who died in traffic accidents. Of course, our community is no exception, and undoubtedly this is something that we all care about. So, I hope you will join us for a free breakfast and an informative presentation about this issue in our community, the need for assistance, and the work of Lowell House.
