13 Ideas for Restaurants and Retailers To Increase Sales During Relaunch

These ideas were generated in conjunction with the Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce.

  • Adjust your hours: Offer exclusive hours for at-risk groups.
  • Pick-up with pizzazz: Create a fun experience when someone takes advantage of curbside pickup. Have a local mascot deliver the items, have a musician playing on the curb to entertain people while they wait, add a little something to your customer’s orders.
  • Consider offering payment plans for purchases: Right now people may be cautious about adding extra expenses. Make it easier for your customers to make the decision by splitting up the payments. Work with your credit card processor or bank to inquire about options available.
  • Become a personal shopper: Offer virtual sessions so your clients can browse your inventory at the convenience of their couch. Give a discount or special if they purchase by the end of the session. Ask them if you can take a screenshot to post on social media.
  • Create an experiential or immersive retail experience: Post a virtual tour of your store/restaurant on your website and social media. Create videos from different locations within your store and offer stories/fun facts that may be of interest to your customers.
  • Offer kits or subscription boxes: Restaurants can offer meal kits to go with the recipe, instructions and all the ingredients to make a delicious meal, an art studio could provide a craft kit or create recurring orders with subscription boxes that are offered on a weekly or monthly basis.
  • Virtual hangouts: Make something, cook something, sell something, discuss something (book club) and stay connected with your customers.
  • Go live: Show and sell your products on Facebook Live.
  • Buy One, Give One: Order a pizza and we’ll donate one to a local healthcare facility. With every $50 purchase you make, we’ll donate $10 to the local Boys & Girls Club. Order today and we’ll give you two a 20% coupons for your next purchase – one for you and one for a friend! greaterlowellchamber.org www.nvcoc.com

  • Make sure to have an online presence: Keep this updated with your hours, any special purchasing instructions, online store. Great way to collect contact information from future customers.
