One of our favorite things about working in downtown Lowell is that we get to pop in and visit many of our members who work in the area. Brew’d Awakening is one of those members. They are a cozy coffee shop located right in the heart of downtown Lowell on Market Street, which is luckily only a short walk for us! After opening in 1995, it has become a downtown staple where everyone who enters is welcome to sit, sip on a cup of coffee, and escape the distractions of day-to-day life. What’s not to love about that?
If you’re not a coffee drinker, no need to worry. They have many drink options including teas and lattes, and they have a great food menu as well! They have classic breakfast sandwich options, salads, delicious pressed sandwiches, and unique bagel sandwiches with a wide variety of flavors. Oh, and did we mention how reasonable their prices are? You’d be hard pressed to find similar pricing that matches the quality elsewhere, they really have a high-quality menu that won’t break the bank. They also do catering if you’re feeding a large crowd, and can provide options such as continental breakfasts, lunch platters, a smoothie bar, coffee & espresso bar, cookies & pastry platters, and even have Bar/Bat Mitzvah specialties including bagels, lox, smoked whitefish, and more. Whether you’re having a meeting in your office, celebrating a birthday, or even a wedding shower, give them a call! They are more than happy to work with you to find the perfect menu based on your guests and the event.
They even have live entertainment at Brew’d! Every Saturday from 1-3 PM they have live acoustic music from local singers and songwriters, and on the first and third Tuesdays of every month, stop by for their poetry open mic and slam sessions! These nights usually have three parts, open mic, slam, and featured guest. It starts at about 6:30 PM and does fill up fast, so make sure you get there early! In August and September they will be experimenting with a new event, Breakdance Cypher Nights! If you have break dance moves but nowhere to show them off, you’ll want to head over to the tent on the Brew’d patio the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays from 6-8 PM in August and September.
