Academy of Notre Dame Celebrates High Enrollment

TYNGSBORO, MA — The Academy of Notre Dame recently hosted a barbecue on campus to welcome all of the new families who have enrolled their children at the elementary school. Enrollment has increased substantially from previous years, which was evident by the more than 80 people who attended the casual event. In total, the elementary school welcomed 110 new students this week. More than 16 are enrolled in the brand new Learn and Discover program, designed for children as young as 2 years, 9 months.

In terms of the interest in the elementary school, many positive changes have been made to the curriculum that bring about a more individualized learning experience for each student, which may be part of the reason for the success of the elementary program. “The schedules throughout the school are linked to allow students who are performing well to matriculate a complete grade level higher in all subject areas,” commented elementary Principal Bob Murphy. “I think word of mouth about the positive changes has created quite a buzz”.

The high school enrollment is up over 66% over last year. “We are very excited about welcoming the class of 2018, we haven’t had an incoming freshman class this large since 2010,” commented high school Principal Helen Kay.

When asked about what factors may have influenced this across the board, upward trend, Vice President of Marketing and Enrollment Jocelyn Mendonsa replied, “Between the curriculum enhancements on the elementary side, and the number and variety of summer camps that have been implemented through the Enrichment Program, the Academy as a whole has really been flourishing.”
