Q. What got you involved in your industry?
A. I’ve always been a numbers person who also loves interacting with people. My first job after earning my bachelor’s degree in accounting was as an internal auditor – a job that provided me opportunity to evaluate financials and procedures, as well as help department heads run their departments. Over the years I continued helping business people by serving as an Accounting Manager at EMC and as a Financial Projects Manager at Hanover Insurance. When my father and stepmother asked about my availability to work for them at ABC Payroll, I was very excited. This industry is a perfect match for me. We get to become part of our clients’ businesses.
Q. What is your business’ specialty?
A. We take responsibility for all payroll tasks. We generate paychecks and/or process direct deposit, track employee benefit hours, track payroll deductions, generate third party checks, file and pay all payroll taxes, generate payroll reports, process and file W-2’s and 1099’s, and also offer bookkeeping services. We do all this so business owners can focus on running their businesses, which is their specialty!
Q. What makes your business stand out from others?
A. At ABC Payroll we cater to the customer. We know that all businesses are different, and all payroll needs are different. Some clients like personal interaction with our processors, some like automation. Some clients want paper checks and paper reports, while others prefer direct deposit and internet available reports. Each payroll process is customized to the needs of that client. We offer professional service with personal dedication!
Q. Who’s the perfect customer for you?
A. Any business that wants to focus on running their business, instead of worrying about payroll rules and regulations, is a great customer for us! Generally we find that smaller businesses, from one to 150 employees, are the businesses that want to outsource payroll with us. The perfect customer also considers us part of their team!
Q. How has the Greater Lowell Chamber helped your Business?
A. The GLCC has provided so many opportunities for us to make connections throughout the Greater Lowell area, and beyond. These connections become not only business connections but also personal connections. We have also benefited from participation in the many informational seminars offered by the Chamber, from social media to understanding recent legislative changes.
