Providing Comfort a Whole New Way

Mr. Mac’s fundraiser raises money to help those with breast cancer

Mr. Mac’s Macaroni and Cheese in Manchester and Portsmouth, NH and Tyngsboro, MA presented a $2000 check, as a result, their 2nd annual “Give Hope…Get Mac” event held in October, to support the New Hampshire Breast Cancer Coalition. NHBCC President Nancy Ryan accepted the donation to help her with the NHBCC mission to care for local women that are struggling with Breast Cancer. The Mr. Mac’s owners, brother and sister team Patrick Cain and Valerie Andersen wanted to support the NHBCC, since they focus their efforts on caring for and giving comfort to those in the midst of their battle with the disease that effects an estimated 1 in 8 women. “One of the best parts of living and working in NH, is the comforting feeling of belonging…that strong sense of community,” states Cain. “If we all do just a little, we can bring comfort to those right here in our community struggling with this disease.” Cain continues, “This year, our Franchise partner, Harry Cheema, embraced this effort as well with his two locations located in Portsmouth and Tyngsboro.”
During the month of October, Mr. Mac’s donated $1 for every Take & Bake order of their macaroni and cheese specialties, often described as the “best comfort food on the planet.” The Mr. Mac’s team donated $1,000 in 2016, and are pleased to have doubled that amount to $2,000 in 2017 with the unique fundraiser.
